The basis for every experience is our own mind.
"Things don't know themselves. There is nothing other than the mind that knows things. Things exist because of being perceived by a perceiving mind." Rainbow Painting by Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche

Hi Everyone,
Since we have just launched this week, it is safe to say that we are all in week one right now. On Day 2 I talk about knowing what your motivation for meditating is, and have created a podcast (#2) outlining why it is so helpful.
If you feel comfortable, you can share that here, it may help you to further refine it by discussing it and it will definitely help others by hearing the different reasons that are out there.
My suggestion to everyone is to try to have a spiritually motivated practice, one in which you aspire to be a better person, to cultivate positive qualities. Once these qualities are established and nurtured, everything else falls into place on their own.

There seems to be certain times of the day when my mind is less my own than other times. It seems late at night, sometimes just before bed my mind wants to visit all the places that need fixing, immediately... Negative thoughts and emotions seemingly can come from nowhere, as I watch them come-up and then sometimes do nothing but get into their story.

Do we have more power over our thoughts at certain times of the day?

"I can't meditate at the same time every day." We hear this often, and not to worry. Meditating at the same time everyday creates consistency and ease (your mind starts to move into a meditative space more easily). We meditate at 7:30 am but use this thread to find someone to meditate with or post the times you meditate so your fellow villagers can meditate 'with' you.
